The Fort Stockton Prowler Softball Team opened District 2-4A play at home on Friday vs. the always tough Seminole Maidens. The Prowlers took an early 4-0 lead after one inning of play but the Maidens exploded for 8 runs in the top of the 2nd frame to take an 8-4 lead. The Prowlers bounced back by scoring in each of the next three innings eventually taking the lead in the bottom of the 4th. The Prowlers added 3 more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the game by a score of 12-8.
Pitcher Miriah Bueno settled down after a tough start and held the Maidens scoreless from the top of the 3rd inning on. She allowed only one more Seminole hit over that span. Offensively, the Prowlers had hits all through out the line-up and home runs by Desiree Blanco and Ashleigh Ramirez, who hit two on the night.
