The Fort Stockton Prowlers softball team moved to 2-0 in district play with a 9-1 win over the rival Pecos Lady Eagles. The game was tightly contested for the first five innings of play with the Prowlers holding onto a 3-1 lead through 5 innings. The Prowlers, however, broke things open in the top of the sixth and seventh with good hitting and excellent base running tallying six runs in those frames.
Miriah Bueno had another good performance in the circle for the Prowlers. After giving up a run early in the 2nd inning, she and the Prowler defense held the Lady Eagles scoreless for the remainder of the game.
Desiree Blanco had an excellent game at the plate totaling 3 hits and scoring a run. Bella Renteria, Becca Rodriguez, Ashleigh Ramirez, and Bueno all had good nights at the plate.
