Fort Stockton High School's Pedro Vasquez won the boys 400-meter race today at the 4A-Region 1 Track and Field Meet in Lubbock.
His time was 49.7. The finish advances him to the state meet.
In other events:
• Raquel Bernal took 2nd in the 300 hurdles to qualify for state.
• Phoebe Rosado took 8th in 100m.
• Katie Salmon took 7th in the Triple Jump
• Leslie Esquivel finished 8th in the 3200.
