The Panther's JV football team welcomed the Pecos Eagles to Pantherland Thursday for an exciting football game. The Panthers came out rolling with Shane Velasquez returning the opening kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown giving the panthers a 6-0 lead. Brian Garcia added to the touchdown with the two point conversion, bringing the score to 8-0.
Offensively the Panthers came out rolling and were unstoppable. Roy Bislar scored the first offensive touchdown receiving a pass from Brian Garcia for 52 yards! Jayden Luna followed up converting the two points to give the Panthers a 16-0 lead. The Panther's offense finished with over 250 yards on the ground with contributions from 9 different ball carriers.
Defensively the Panthers were solid they held the eagles to zero points in the first half! Ronnie Romero had a big time strip killing any momentum the eagles thought they had. Allen Adame also killed some eagles momentum with and interception and 20 yard return setting up the Panthers offense.
As the teams departed from Pantherland the Panthers finished on top 30-6 bouncing back from the tough loss a week before.
The JV Panthers get their first win of the year moving their record to 1-2.
The JV boys will prepare for next Thursdays contest against the Snyder Tigers.
