ANDREWS INVITATIONAL

The Blue Wave Swim and Dive teams competed at the Andrews invitational January 2-4. The girls finished 6th and the boys 8th out of 22 teams. The divers traveled on Thursday Anthony Gomez placed 5th and Leslie Esquivel placed 7th. The swimmers competed in prelims on Friday, and 14 of the 16 athletes qualified to compete on Saturday. Our top 8 finishers include the Girls 200 medley and freestyle relays (Leslie Esquivel, Yajaira Fortson, Yazmin Reyes, and Arissa Jimenez). Individuals are Leslie Esquivel 3rd in the 100 breast and Yajaira Fortson 6th in the 50 free and 7th in the 100 back. EJ Vazquez finished 3rd in the 50 free and 100 free. The teams next Competition will be the district meet in Andrews on January 18-19.
