The Prowlers lost their district opener tonight to Seminole 65-37. The team played well in the first half of the game, but the latter half of the game proved too tough for the Prowlers. Senior leader Katie Salmon finished the game with 18 points, while senior Becca Rodriguez was another top scorer with 11 points. Jocelyn Lujan, a senior for the basketball team, was excellent as a defensive threat for the Prowlers. Additionally, Alyana Dominguez and Alexis Holmquist were essential fixtures on the court with crucial boards.
The Prowlers’ record now moves to 0-1 in district play and 10-14 overall. Records around the district are as follows: Seminole 2-0, Andrews 1-0, Monahans 1-1, Fort Stockton 0-1 and Pecos 0-2.
Prowlers will host the Pecos Lady Eagles on Friday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. in the SEC.
