PANTHERS WALK OFF AGAINST THE EAGLES

The Fort Stockton Panthers Varsity led off their first game of the Comanche Classic against San Elizario on Thursday, February 27th at 7:00 P.M. The Panthers fell behind after the top of the sixth inning 3-2, after going into the inning with a 2-1 lead. After loading the bases in the bottom of the sixth, thanks to a couple timely bunts, Daren Ureste came up to the plate and hit a walk-off, two-run single to bring the Panthers a 4-3 win over the Eagles. AJ Garcia, along with Daren Ureste, had two base hits to go along with two stolen bases. Ed Prieto performed well on the mound, pitching a two-hit complete game, while only allowing one earned run. The Panthers will continue their play in the second day of the Comanche Classic by playing San Angelo Lakeview at 3:20, and Canutillo at 7:00 P.M.
