9TH GRADE BASEBALL BEATS VAN HORNS VARSITY

The Fort Stockton Freshman Baseball team traveled to Van Horn on Thursday, March 12th to play two games in the Desert Baseball Tournament. The Panthers took on host Van Horn in game one and beat the Eagles 4-0. Alfredo Molina threw a no hitter through 4 innings, striking out 11 of the 13 batters he faced. Adrian Hernandez had an rbi base hit in the Panther victory, while Cruz Rojas had a two run base hit. In the second game the Panthers played Pecos Purple in the winners bracket and were defeated 7-3. Cruz Rojas pitched a solid 3 innings in relief and had a one run triple. Alfredo Molina stayed hot at the plate as well, contributing to the Panthers score with a two run triple. The Freshman team will play in the third place game in Van Horn on Saturday, March 14th at 1:00 PM.
