Fort Stockton JV White team welcomed the Lake View Chiefs today with a 4:30 kick off.

The young Panthers defense got off to an exciting start when freshman Randy Sandoval intercepted a Chiefs pass and ran it back for a 65 yard pick six giving the Panthers the early 6-0 lead.

Unfortunately the Panther's offense couldn't get their wheels spinning as they would drive down the field and then hit a brick wall. Sophomore Julian Sanchez had a couple big runs for the Panthers racking up 69 yards on 8 carries. Right behind him was freshman Randy Sandoval with 5 carries for 45 yards.

Sophomore Quarterback Chris Ortega did a tremendous job being a leader out on the field giving the Panthers a fighting chance! He played through some nagging pain after taking a late hit by one of the Chief's defenders.

Defensively for the Panther's Junior Caleb Urias step up filling in a role he isn't use to. With injuries sidelining some of his teammates Caleb bravely played in the trenches at defensive tackle, doing an outstanding job slowing down the Chief's offense in the second half.

Sadly the Panthers could not come back and fell to the Chiefs by a score of 6-26.

The young Panthers will be off next week but look forward to returning to the field seeking revenge against rival Monahans in two weeks!
