NEW HOME, TEXAS (Nov. 13, 2020)- Fort Stockton High School’s varsity girls basketball team dropped their second non-district game to New Home, 26-71. The Prowlers now move to 1-2 overall for the 2020-21 season.
Offensively the Prowlers were led by a sophomore powerhouse of Eliana Mata who had eight points on the night. Briana Diaz and Katie Villarreal added six points.
The Prowlers defense showed moments of brilliance, but couldn’t hold off the offensive threats of New Home. Junior Alexis Holmquist, Sophomore Arial Smith and Freshman Sophie Hernandez came out strong defensively. They held the Lady Leopards to 11 points in both the third and fourth quarters.
Next up the Prowlers will host Denver City in the SEC on Saturday, November 14 at 1 p.m. The Prowlers would love to see Fort Stockton pack the stands, but please make sure that all COVID guidelines and regulations are closely followed.
