MIDLAND, TEXAS (Nov. 20, 2020)- Fort Stockton High School’s girls varsity basketball team dropped a nail biter to Midland Christian High School (MCHS) 54-55.

The Prowlers had the opportunity to close the game out with a victory, but it slipped away due to a lack of free throw shooting execution.

Defensive efforts were provided by all of the Prowlers. The team forced turnovers and earned steals by playing tough on the other side of the ball. Efforts for defense were led by sophomore Arial Smith, sophomore Eliana Mata, junior Alexis Holmquist, and junior Alyana Dominguez.

Eliana Mata carried the Prowlers’ offense with 18 points. Arial Smith added 12 points and freshman Sophie Hernandez added eight points.

The Prowlers are now set to regroup during this holiday break. The girls will take the court on Tuesday, December 1 in Odessa.
