LUBBOCK, TEXAS (Dec. 29, 2020)- The Prowlers halted their winter break to head to Lubbock for a matchup against Lubbock Christian High School. Fort Stockton’s varsity squad couldn’t subdue the Lady Eagles and fell 36-54.
After a rocky first half of the game, the Prowlers bounced back and started to showcase their talents in the second half. The varsity squad outscored the Home team 29-17 for the final push in the game.
Junior Alyana Dominguez led the charge for the Prowlers recording 13 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 blocks. Sophomore Arial Smith added 9 points in the loss going 3-for-5 from the free throw line. Sophomore Eliana Mata recorded 5 points while also adding 4 rebounds. Rounding out the offense for the Prowlers with two points each were sophomore Briana Diaz, Senior Kylie Ruiz and Freshman Sophie Hernandez.
Looking ahead to Saturday, Jan. 2, the Prowlers will head to Big Spring. This is the last non-district game for the Prowlers. District is slated to begin on Tuesday, Jan. 5 against rival Monahans in the SEC.
