The Varsity Prowlers played an outstanding game against Monahans tonight. Varsity came out on top; earning their first district win of the season. The Prowlers trailed in every quarter except the 4th quarter. The girls fought back and were determined to not be defeated by one of our rival schools.
Prowlers ended the 3rd quarter losing 33-35. Arial Smith came out strong in the 4th quarter helping the varsity to win 46-38.
Sophomore Arial Smith: (leading offensive scorer): 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals.
Sophomore Eliana Mata: 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Sophomore: Melissa Villarreal: 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Junior: Alyana Dominquez: 3 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and outstanding defense.
This was a very exciting and big win for the Prowlers. This will set the tone and expectations for the varsity for the remaining district play.
The Prowlers travel to Seminole this Friday and have a tip off time at 6pm.
