Fort Stockton Panthers Varsity defeated Presidio 16-4 on Tuesday thanks to a timely 11 runs in a big third inning. Diego Renteria, Devon Rodriguez, Antoine Garcia, Evian Castro, Jaydrien Ramirez, and Rodriguez each drove in runs during the inning.
Fort Stockton Panthers Varsity took the lead for good with 11 runs in the third inning. In the third inning, an error scored one run for the
panthers. Rodriguez drew a walk, scoring one run, Garcia doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs, Castro singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs, Ramirez singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Rodriguez singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, and Fort Stockton Panthers Varsity scored on a stolen base during Dominic Bernal's at-bat. Then Bernal singled, driving in one.
Felipe Sotelo led things off on the hill for Fort Stockton Panthers. Sotelo surrendered four runs on three hits over three innings, striking out six.
Fort Stockton Panthers Varsity racked up 12 hits. Ramirez, Bernal, Castro, and Rodriguez all collected multiple hits for Fort Stockton Panthers Varsity. Ramirez led Fort Stockton Panthers Varsity with three hits in three at-bats. Fort Stockton Panthers Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ramirez had the most chances in the field with 12. Fort Stockton Panthers Varsity tore up the base paths, as five players stole at least two bases. Rodriguez led the way with four.
The next game will be Thursday 2/25/21 at 3 pm and 6 pm at the Comanche Classic in Fort Stockton.
