JV Prowlers are successful after the first game against Kermit. The Prowlers started off strong scoring 5 runs in the first inning. They continued scoring 5 runs for three innings straight. Then added another two runs making the final score 17-0. Defensively, the Prowlers only left a single digit numbers of runners on base.
Freshman Aryanna Gonzalez got the win in the circle for the Prowlers. She struck out 8 batters. Freshman Sophie Hernandez was a wall behind the plate and had 2 good hits.
Junior Kassidy Montanez reached base 2 out of 3 at bats.
Freshman Janean Gonzalez reached base at all three at bats.
I am really proud of the JV girls this evening. This was their first time facing a live pitcher and they did extremely well. All the girls reached base this evening (Tori Wilkins, Destanie Villages, Ivanna Ortiz, Melena Ramirez, Amaya Urias, Reagan Munoz, Madelyn Martinez, Sabrina Cook, Yadira Hernandez)
As of right now the JV Prowlers will host Marfa's Varsity this Thursday 2/25 at 4:30pm. Next week the Prowlers travel to Marfa for the Marfa tournament.
