Both Prowler Softball teams travelled to Lamesa today to take on Lamesa and Lubbock Coronado.
The JV Prowlers only played one game against Lamesa. We defeated them 13-10.
Freshman Sabrina Cook pitched strong through the first couple innings. Junior Kassidy Montanez finished pitching for the Prowlers.
Freshman Sophie Hernandez caught an outstanding game, only letting minimal balls past her.
Montanez also contributed to the offensive line up. She hit a 3 run homer to center field. She added several base hits as well.
Junior Yanet Rodriguez, Sophie Hernandez, Sophomore Arissa Gonzalez, Freshman Ivanna Ortiz, and Freshman Amaya Urias all added several base hits a piece that contributed to the score. Ivanna Ortiz had an in-the-park home run as well. We are aggressive on the base paths as many girls have speed.
This coming Tuesday starts off district play with a game in Monahans against the Lady Loboes. The JV game will follow immediately after the varsity game.
