Fort Stockton, Texas (Sept. 2, 2021)- The Prowlers hosted their first home games of the season with Odessa’s Compass Academy Charter School making a trip to Fort Stockton. The JV squad took their game to three sets with scores of 21-25, 25-11 and 25-9.
Freshman Aubrie Salgado ran the JV’s offensive efforts with 13 assists. Leading the charge for the Prowlers’ offense was freshman Mia Garcia with 5 kills and 4 assists. Juniors JazLynn Pacheco, Ashlyn Marquez and Kathryn Mendoza each tallied 4 kills. Junior Leilani Enriquez added 3 kills. At the service line, the Prowlers held their own recording 4 aces as a team. The back half of the court was held down by Junior Melissa Villarreal with 7 digs and Arissa Gonzalez with 5 digs.
Coach Ramirez stated, “This JV team has been fun to watch. We have played a lot of volleyball this far and it’s only going to help solidify and fine tune our overall skills set. I cannot wait to see what this team is going to do come district time. Come out and catch a game. I promise you will not be disappointed.”
The Prowlers will be back in action on Tuesday, September 7 in Odessa. Games are slated to begin at 5 p.m.
