The Panthers traveled to Horizon last night to face off against the Scorpions from Horizon. The Panthers had an ugly first half but started turning it around a little in the 3rd quarter with a strong running game. The Scorpions scored first in the 2nd but the strong and quick Panther defense held tuff and kept the Scorpions shut down for the rest of the game. In the 4th the Panthers offense and defense stepped up and led the team to victory. Midway through the 4th the Panthers got a rhythm going with a strong running and some key passing but still were denied the end zone. Three minutes an something left in the forth the defense step up, on 4th and long Scorpions punting, linebackers Alonzo Galindo and Louie Ramos blocked the punt and Brayden Valenzuela scooped up the ball and rumbled 29 yards into the end zone for the score and the 2 point conversion failed leaving it a tie score with minutes left in the game. Once again the defense set up recovered a fumble and just like that the Panthers had a chance to win the game, with 70 seconds left in the game the running game was shut down, so quarterback Sergio Ramirez threw a 43 yard touchdown to Louie Ramos. and this gave the Panthers a late come back victory 12-6. Next game Thursday 16th at Monahans, improving record to 2-1.
