Denver City, Texas (Nov. 9, 2021) - The Fort Stockton Girls Basketball teams traveled to Denver City for a non-district contest. The Prowler JV squad tamed the Fillies 31-27.
Offensive efforts were led by Junior Katheryn Mendoza and Freshman Aubrey Jones who each rallied 6 points. Junior Yvette Lopez added 5 points. Freshman Dmya Vaughn and Junior Mayrene Bernal each added 4 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Prowlers was Sophomore Priscilla Trevino, Sophomore Melena Ramirez with 2 points and Elizabeth Bislar with 1 point.
Coach Sera Ramirez stated, “Although we won, we have a few things that the Fillies exploited. I’m grateful for these preseason games because it helps my players to understand what we, as a team, need to be better at executing. Overall, I’m proud of these athletes. It was a great Prowler win!”
The Prowlers are back in action at their home sub varsity tournament. The tournament is set to run Thursday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 13.
