Fort Stockton, Texas (Nov. 11, 2021)- Fort Stockton’s (FS) girls basketball program hosted the FS Girls Basketball Sub Varsity Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 11. Teams competing in the tournament include: FS Blue team, FS White team, Sanderson, Midland Christian, McCamey, Iraan, Greenwood, and Presidio.
The FS Blue team defeated Sanderson 29-14 in their first game of pool play. Scoring for the game included: Yvette Lopez with 7 points, Mayrene Bernal with 5 points, Aubrianna Whitecotton with 4 points, Janean Gonzalez with 3 points, Jaci Valenzuela with 2 points, Estrella Aguilar with 2 points, Kat Mendoza with 2 points, Nevaeha Ybarra with 2 points, and Aubrey Jones with 2 points.
In the second game of the day, the FS Blue team defeated Presidio 42-26. The offensive power of the Prowlers proved to be too much for the Lady Blue Devils. Scoring for the game included: Yadira Hernandez 11 points, Yvette Lopez 9 points, Dmya Vaughn 7 points, Estrella Aguilar 6 points, Aubrianna Whitecotton 4 points, Mayrene Bernal 2 points, Jaci Valenzuela 2 points, and Aubrey Jones 1 point.
The JV Blue team will play on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. against Midland Christian inside of the Bill & Virginia Williams Special Events Center (SEC).
