Fort Stockton, Texas (Nov. 13, 2021)- The Fort Stockton Sub Varsity Tournament concluded on Saturday, Nov. 13. First place went to Greenwood, second place was earned by Midland Christian and third place stayed in Fort Stockton with the Blue Team.
In the last game of pool play, the Prowler JV Blue team fell to a tough opponent in Midland Christian 27-35. The Prowlers played a great game, but were unable to capitalize on their uncontested shots. Scoring leaders included: Yvette Lopez with 10 points, Mayrene Bernal with 5 points, Dmya Vaughn with 4 points, Yadira Hernandez with 3 points, Janean Gonzalez with 2 points, Kat Mendoza with 2 points and Nevaeha Ybarra with 2 points.
The third place game featured the Prowler JV Blue squad and the McCamey Lady Badgers. Fort Stockton defeated McCamey 39-15. Scoring for the game: Melena Ramirez 9 points, Estrella Aguilar 6 points, Dmya Vaughn 6 points, Kat Mendoza 4 points, Mayrene Bernal 4 points, Nevaeha Ybarra 4 points, Yvette Lopez 3 points, Janean Gonzalez 2 pints, and Yadira Hernandez 1 point.
Next up for the Prowlers is a home bout with Lamesa. Game times are as follows freshmen at 4:30 p.m., JV at 6 p.m. and Varsity at 7:30 p.m. Prowler fans are encouraged to come out to the Bill and Virginia Williams Special Events (SEC) to cheer on the teams!
