PROWLERS DEFEAT EL PASO JEFFERSON IN FIRST GAME OF LAMESA HIGH SCHOOL'S O. W. FOLLIS TOURNAMENT

Lamesa, Texas (Dec. 2, 2021)- The varsity Prowlers Basketball team won a decisive 50-26 victory over El Paso Jefferson in their first game of the Lamesa tournament. The Prowlers used a swarming defense that held the Jefferson team to 0 points in the 4th quarter. Coach Chew praised their defensive efforts:" we played tenacious defense that led to many of our scoring opportunities on the run " The Prowlers offense executed well during their 5th win of the young season(5-1). Eliana Mata led the the defense with 8 steals and Alyana Dominguez had 5 steals. Dominguez also led the scoring with 19 points, followed by Mata with 8 points and Amaya Urias with 8 points. Other scorers were Mia Garcia with 5, Sophie Hernandez 4, Alexia Galindo 3 and Melissa Villarreal 3. The Prowlers next game will be against the tournament hosting Lamesa Lady Tors on Friday at 9:30 am.
