Lamesa, Texas (Dec. 4, 2021)- The Varsity Prowlers basketball team lost two squeakers in their final two games of the Lamesa Tournament. In their first game, New Deal escaped with a 42-36 victory over the Prowlers. Eliana Mata kept the Prowlers on the heels of New Deal scoring 17 points and knocking down four 3-point baskets during the game. Other scorers were Alyana Dominguez with 5 points, Mia Garcia 4, Melissa Villarreal 4, Keanna Torres 2, Amaya Urias 2, and Sophie Hernandez 2.
In their second game of the day, the short handed Prowlers fell to Post 46-33. Alyanna Dominguez led the Prowlers scoring with 17 points and also had 7 blocks on defense. Other scorers in the nightcap game were Mata with 6, Garcia 5, Alexia Galindo 4, and Torres 1. The Prowlers Varsity will play Big Spring next, at 6:30 in the Special Events Center.
