PROWLER VARSITY TEAM AT FREDERICKSBURG TOURNAMENT - DAY 1

The varsity Prowlers were defeated in both games Thursday at the Fredericksburg tournament. The Prowlers were defeated in their first game by Somerset 50-27, with no answer for the size of Somerset in the paint. The Prowlers struggled all game against four six footers inside and that often led to great perimeter shots. Even with the huge inside presence of Somerset, Prowlers post player Amaya Urias was leading scorer with 10 points. she was followed by Alyana Dominguez with 7 points, Mia Garcia 4, Keanna Torres 3, Alexia Galindo 2, and Eliana Mata 1. In their second game, the Prowlers fell to the state's 5th ranked team, Fredericksburg, 63-31. Eliana Mata led Prowlers scoring with 11 points, hitting three treys, which also helped the Prowlers match the the three point shots of the Billies at five each for both teams. Other Prowlers scoring were Alyana Dominguez with 10, who hit her two three point baskets from NBA shooting range during the game. Keanna Torres had 6 points and Amaya Urias 4 points to close out the scoring. Prowlers dropped to 6-6 on the season.
