The Panthers traveled a very young team to Monahans, Texas last night to compete in a Powerlifting Tri-Meet alongside host Monahans and Marfa. The young Panthers competed their hearts out. All the lifters for the Panthers were first timers. They all accepted the challenge to learn and adapt to the different types of rulings. With their minds focused they were all able to overcome and break through with some amazing results. Stand out lifters for the Panthers were; freshman Leeland Ibarra, his totals included 280 lbs Squat, 205 lbs Bench, 275 lbs Deadlift, with a total of 760 lbs. Also for the Panthers senior JC Napay whose totals included, 345 lbs Squat, 185 lbs Bench, 345 lbs Deadlift, with a total of 875 lbs. There is still a lot of room for growth as these young Panthers continue to come and grind in the weight room during the early mornings. The future looks bright here in Fort Stockton. The next powerlifting meet for the Panthers will be this Saturday January 15th at the Monahans Sandhill Invitational where we look forward to seeing what some of our older boys are capable of! Lifting begins at 8:45 AM and spectators are welcome!
